In fact, the odds of hitting a progressive jackpot are based on the maths of the slot’s game software and not the number of spins or total staked across all slots. The jackpot is won if the triggering symbol lands on 1 or more of the reels. The exact odds are built into the software, but the jackpot’s design depends on the slot provider. It could be a fixed probability event or it might be decided by the amount of staked money, the time of day, or other factors.
In the computer industry, a slot refers to an opening in a motherboard that can be used to support add-on cards or memory.
